Meghan was looking for 'famous British man' before landing Harry

Before meeting Prince Harry, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, allegedly asked a friend to help her find a "famous British man."

Lizzie Cundy, 50, says she met The Duchess of Sussex, 36, at a charitable dinner in 2013 and became friends with her.

According to Cundy, who spoke to The Sun, Meghan inquired about high-profile suitors after she divorced her first partner, Trevor Engelson, in the same year.

"Do you know any famous guys?" Meghan asked Lizzie during a 'girly chat.'

Meghan continued, pleading with Lizzie, that she was "single" and "really love English men."

Cundy said, "We'll go out and find you someone," noting that she showed Meghan a photo of footballer Ashley Cole, who the royal disliked.

'Meghan’s so relaxed, she liked a drink, great fun, I remember her asking about my boys, she was very interested and asking lots of questions,' Lizzie said the pair met up again the next day at the Global Gift Gala.

Meghan "ghosted" Cundy after she began dating Prince Harry in 2016.

The TV host went on to say that the two stayed in contact and that she was surprised when news of her engagement with Prince Harry emerged.

The TV host tweeted that she had hoped to be a bridesmaid but was unsuccessful.

Meghan was allegedly ordered by the Palace to cut all ties with the media, and Lizzie says she has not heard from the now-Duchess of Sussex since that time.

Meghan has been recently reported to have exchanged texts with Matt Cardle, the 2010 winner of The X Factor, as she began her quest for love.

According to The Sun, the unlikely couple began a previously undisclosed online romance in 2015.

Just before his award-winning appearance in the West End musical Memphis, Meghan, 37, complimented the handsome actor, 36.

Meghan had left her first husband, Trevor Engelson, by that time, and she was looking to meet someone new when she went to London.

Matt is still in a serious relationship with Amber Hernaman, 28, whom he credits with keeping him clean since his time on The X Factor UK, where he battled drug and alcohol abuse.

Lizzie's latest novel, Tales from the Red Carpet, is available now on Amazon and contains all of her explosive celebrity adventures.

Piers Morgan has previously discussed Meghan's ghosting him.
